Installing Dial-up Adapter and
Checking TCP/IP Protocol Settings

Press the The Start button is usually located at the lower left cornor of your screen button and select settings.
Click on Control Panel and  Double-click on Network icon.

The Dialogue box shown below should appear. If you do not have all the components listed don't worry...  You only need Dialup Networking and TCP/IP or TCP/IP Dialup Adapter installed.

Select Dial-Up Adapter by clicking on it

1.At the Network dialog box select the Configuration Tab by clicking on the "Configuration Tab" if it is not already selected.

2.See if you can locate Dial-Up adapter and TCP/IP in the component list .
Note:  If the Dial-Up adapter and/or TCP/IP does not appear in this list, follow the directions in section A and B (Below).

A. IF THE DIAL-UP ADAPTER DOES NOT APPEAR IN THIS LIST:

1.Click the Add button, double click on Adapter.
2.Scroll through the list until you see MICROSOFT.
3.Highlight the Microsoft entry and Dial-Up adapter will appear.
4.Highlight the adapter and press the OK button.

B. IF TCP/IP IS NOT ON THE COMPONENTS LIST:

1.Click on the ADD option.
2.Click on the Protocol option. Then on the left side of the window that pops up click on Microsoft and on the right side, click on TCP/IP and then click Add
3.Now that your network component list contains the Dial-Up Adapter and the TCP/IP protocol, highlight the Dial-Up Adapter and click on the Properties button.
4.Select the Bindings tab and make sure the TCP/IP box is the only box checked.
