personal information, we will notify you by e-mail of the relevant
changes. At the time of that message, you will be able to opt-out of
this information usage by responding to the e-mail notification
advising you of the changes in information usage. You should also

What Information Does The IOLS
Site Gather/Track?
IOLS strives to provide our customers with a superior, personalized
and customized Internet experience. To do so, IOLS may gather
information about each of our members' geographic location, personal
interests, and preferences, all the while ensuring for the privacy
protection of that information.
As part of the IOLS registration
process, we will ask you to provide individually identifiable
information such as your first and last name, address, zip code,
telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address, a username, confidential
password, birth date and mother's maiden name.
We also monitor and catalog traffic
patterns throughout the IOLS site. We accomplish this through a
feature of your browser called a "cookie," which in turn
assigns a random number, or "User ID," to your browser.
Cookies, by themselves, cannot be used to isolate the identity of any
single user. Your cookie only identifies your computer. Most
browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you prefer, you
can reset your browser either to notify you when you've received a
cookie, or to refuse to accept cookies. You should understand that
certain areas of the IOLS site will not function properly if you set
your browser to refuse cookies.
Companies which purchase advertising on
the IOLS service also have the ability to assign their cookie to your
computer, in a process which IOLS does not control. But since cookies
aren't able to identify individuals (you'll be just a number to them),
these advertisers will never know who you are - and IOLS will never
tell them!
How Does IOLS Use This
Information?
We hope to make IOLS the starting point for all your online needs.
More importantly, we want to deliver a compelling online experience
that will keep you coming back to visit the service again and again.
IOLS uses the information supplied to us as a means to personalize
portions of the service. Some of these personalized services are made
available directly by IOLS, while others are offered by our content
partners. In addition, we analyze and evaluate member preferences,
comments, and criticisms of IOLS offerings in order to make
improvements to the present and future versions of the service.
IOLS automatically sends all registered
members an introductory e-mail which confirms the member's username
and provides information on contacting IOLS technical support staff.
In addition we will send you the IOLS Newsletter or Updates, which
provide you with information about new products, services, or special
promotions. In every such e-mail, we will also include instructions on
how to unsubscribe to future communications of this type.
IOLS will never willfully disclose
individually identifiable information about our members to any third
party without first receiving that member's permission unless we
believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the
rights or property of IOLS.
Will IOLS Disclose Any Of My
Personal Information?
When information is given to other web sites you are visiting or
services you register for outside of IOLS (i.e., free e-mail service,
etc.) that company may have its own privacy policy that you should
read and understand before submitting any of your personally
identifiable information to be shared with that company. IOLS retains
no responsibility or liability for privacy policies of those
entities. These companies may track your navigation to and from
their sites and collect aggregate information about you. IOLS does not
control this collection of information, nor do we monitor the use of
this information. You should contact these companies directly if
you have questions about their use of this information. In summary,
IOLS does not control the information collection and distribution
policies on sites outside of the IOLS service.
As part of our support features, IOLS
allows members to participate in various chat rooms, forums, message
boards, and news groups. Please be aware that any information
disclosed in a chat room or news group, or on a message board, may
become public information. Members should exercise serious caution
when deciding to disclose individually identifiable information in one
of these areas. Your personal privacy is important to us, however,
IOLS cannot ensure the protection or security of information disclosed
within these areas.
In addition, if you choose to make a
purchase through an online store or service linked from IOLS, be aware
that any information given, such as a credit card number or home
address, will be received by the company operating the store. These
merchants have separate and distinct privacy and data collection
practices. IOLS retains no responsibility or liability for the privacy
policies of these online stores. To obtain more information about an
individual vendor's policy on privacy, please visit their homepage and
review their privacy statement before making a purchase decision.
What Are IOLS Opt-Out
Features?
IOLS policy on communications directed to our members is very clear:
You can tell us if you don't want to receive communication from IOLS,
such as IOLS e-mail newsletters or updates announcing contests, new
features, or offerings, when you first provide the information to IOLS
or at any time by sending an email to webmaster@iols.net.
Does IOLS Allow For The
Correcting and Updating Of Personal Information?
IOLS allows members, at any time to correct and update the personal
information which was provided during the member's initial
registration process. To make changes online, simply send an email to billing@iols.net.
Does IOLS Have a Spam Policy?
Yes! It is very strict and we do enforce it.
The following is a snip from our Customer Usage Terms of Service at http://www.iols.com/terms.html
SPAM
Policy - The transmission of any type of
material (Email, files, images, et all), whether graphical or
textual in content, sent through email, news groups or any other
service provided or accessed by IOLS to other customers or
non-customers without their express consent is prohibited under the
terms of this agreement.
Transmission of the above referenced material that does not
use the IOLS network but refers to a web site or page contained on
the IOLS servers is also prohibited under the terms of this
agreement. Transmissions of any materials described above
containing fraudulent or forged information in the headers of any
transmission is also prohibited under the terms of this
agreement. Any violations of our SPAM policy will result in
immediate termination and a minimum $500.00 fee per complaint and/or
individual piece of material, to be paid immediately to IOLS.
Customer agrees that if the SPAM Policy is violated that the
Customer’s credit card account will be automatically charged the
minimum $500.00 per complaint or individual piece of material
as payment of this fee. Payment of this fee does not waive any
other fines of penalties that may be levied by IOLS or any other
state, federal or international organizations. Any prepaid
amounts will be forfeited by Customer are not included as part of
the initial fee.
Assistance with Spam and
Reporting Spam
We endeavor, where possible, to assist our customers with tips and
suggestions towards reducing or eliminating Spam to their IOLS email

To report Spam originating
from or through IOLS (or where a Spammer has a reply-to at IOLS)
please forward a copy of the offending email to: abuse@iols.net
